every changed file, its counts and its diff, live under the transcript

/diff opens a live view of everything that has changed in the working tree, in the focus pane under the transcript — the agent keeps streaming above it. It is the answer to "what has DGC actually changed so far?" without leaving the conversation, and it turns any lines you pick into part of your next prompt.

• /diff lists every changed file · /diff src/auth.py opens straight into that file's diff.
• The pane folds away whenever DGC needs your answer (a permission, a prompt, a picker) and returns when you have answered. q or Esc closes it; Ctrl+C still stops the agent.
• It works during a turn. The list re-reads Git every two seconds while it is open, so the model's edits appear as they land; r re-reads immediately.

The data is Git's, read-only: the working tree against HEAD, plus staged and untracked files — exactly what git status calls changed. Each file carries its added and removed line counts (+12 −3), a flag for ? untracked, D deleted and S staged, and the header sums the whole change set. Wide terminals show the file list and the selected diff side by side; a narrow terminal shows one at a time and Tab swaps them. The diff is a unified diff with three lines of context, new-side line numbers in the gutter, and hunk headers you can jump between.

• j / k or ↑ ↓ move through files, then through diff lines · Enter or l opens the diff · h or Esc returns to the list
• J / K step to the next or previous file's diff without leaving the diff
• g / G top and bottom · PgUp / PgDn page · Ctrl+D / Ctrl+U half a page

• Space (or v) starts a selection at the cursor; move to extend it; Space again or Esc drops it.
• Enter with a selection inserts it into the composer as a fenced diff block, headed by the file path and the new-side line range — so "why did you change these three lines?" can quote exactly those three lines. Nothing else about the file enters the model's context.
• a attaches the whole hunk under the cursor the same way.
• One insertion is capped at 120 lines; the header says when it was clipped.

• It never writes, stages, commits or runs a shell command; it only reads Git.
• Diffs over 4,000 rows are clipped; binary files show as bin with no diff.
• It is not the review: /review and the editor's Changes view stay the place to approve or undo a turn. /diff is for looking and asking while the work is still moving.
